TRAVEL ITINERARIES

Olbia Beaches

A stretch of coast full of surprises and wonderful beaches, ideal if you want to strike a balance between worldly and relaxing life. Embraced by the warm and salty waters of the Mediterranean, the diverse coastal area of Costa Smeralda offers amazing landscapes.

Cabu Abbas

One of the most interesting nuraghi in the north of Sardinia is the nuraghe of Cabu Abbas (also Riu Mulinu) it’s located on a rocky promontory which dominates the gulf of Olbia at a sea level of 246 metres. We can assume that they used this construction in order to check the arrival of enemy boats. The complex of Cabu Abbas is characterized by the presence of a big wall 220 metres long and 5 metres high and wide. Its structure incorporates the rocky spikes present in the area. The wall had two entrances: one on the North side and one on the South side. Inside there is the little circular nuraghe with only one tower. It has been realized with granite stones and it is characterized by a passage which has on its right a little niche and on its left the stair to the upper floor which has been destroyed.

The three best beaches in Italy are located in Sardinia and in Sicily (according to Sky scanner)

July 2017 - According to Sky scanner, In Sardinia there are the three best beaches who wins the title of “Best Beaches of Italy”. The Sardinian “Cala dei Gabbiani” is the best know, covered by the nearly famous “Cala Mariolu”. And then in this stretch of beach we found the same incredible characteristics: clear blue and green waters, a cliff polished by time and a seashore with little white stones. His name comes from the presence of seagulls that found refuge there from the darkness. Another amazing beach is Cala Cipolla¸near Domus Maria. The beach is tucked away in a narrow bay and only spans 150 meters, with sands white and fine, backed by dense Mediterranean Maquis. you’ll admire the views of the lighthouse on the headlands of Capo Spartivento located 800 meters away. At the end Cala Luna beach is one of the most beautiful beaches of Sardinia. Set against a backdrop of steep limestone cliffs and lush greenery, its turquoise and azure blue waters are clear like crystal. It has been chosen for the film set of “ Travolti da un insolito destino” of Lina Wertmuller(1974).
